Bite-Sized Exegesis – Proverbs 10:22

Whether you fear God or not, your hard work is not guaranteed to provide for your needs, let alone make you wealthy. God, who honors hard work, causes it to rain on the just and the unjust alike. It is the fool who says, “God did not make me wealthy. I made myself wealthy through hard work.”

Bite-Sized Exegesis – Proverbs 10:15

Wealth acts as a protective barrier between the wealthy man and the difficulties of life. On the other hand, poverty puts a poor man in difficult situations without any kind of protective barrier. In order to survive, the poor man often has to resort to solutions that have regrettable lasting effects that keep the poor man poor.
