Bite-Sized Exegesis is starting a new section of Biblical Hebrew 1. If you missed it this Fall, you’ve got another chance to learn the language of the Old Testament!

Starting Thursday, January 5, BH1 will take place from 5pm to 7pm every Thursday night for 15 weeks. During this course you will learn:

  1. How to pronounce and transliterate Hebrew characters and vowel markings;
  2. How to translate verbless sentences made up of adjectives, nouns, and pronouns;
  3. The first elements of the Hebrew verb system;
  4. A lot of really important Hebrew words!

By the end of it you will find that you can actually read some Hebrew! How cool is that!

This class takes place at the Pentecostals of Crosby Fellowship (502 Pine St., Crosby, TX, 77532). The cost is $150 for the semester. The only required textbook for BH1 is A Basic Introduction to Biblical Hebrew, by Jo Ann Hackett (it costs less than $30 at For BH2, it is also recommended that you get a Hebrew Bible and a Brown-Driver-Briggs lexicon.
